Al-Karkh University of Science participates in a joint workshop with the European Union delegation on the Erasmus Plus program.
A delegation from Al-Karkh University of Science, represented by the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the university (Md. Rafif Yousef Rashid) and the head of the Erasmus Plus Unit at the university (Md. Amna Maitham Muhammad), participated in a workshop organized by the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, under the supervision of the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, and in the presence of assistant presidents of universities (public and private), directors of cultural relations departments, and those authorized to manage the units of European Union projects in universities.
The workshop aims to introduce the Erasmus Plus programme, which is a European Union program with a budget of approximately 15 billion dollars, which supports the education of students, especially young people, and also provides new opportunities (while enhancing the opportunities available) to participate in sports activities and other programs that… It takes place outside the European Union, as well as improving the quality of education in Iraqi universities in cooperation with high-level educational institutions located in European Union countries and other European Union partner countries.
The workshop included a speech delivered by the advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdel Hassan, in which he explained the importance of the Erasmus Plus program in developing the capabilities of Iraqi universities and encouraging them to communicate with European universities through exchanging experiences and financing the projects presented in the Erasmus program, especially since the ministry has many projects. Joint projects include the Taft, Pano, and Inspire projects, as well as the Izdiharak project.
also the Deputy of European Union Ambassador David Healey reviewed the impact of the program in its first phase, and the extent of European-Iraqi cooperation in the field of higher education, pointing to the achievements achieved by the Erasmus Plus program, which had a clear impact in improving the quality of education, through the exchange of experiences with European partners in Various institutions, and enhancing the leadership, innovation and creativity capabilities of participating academic students in Iraqi educational institutions.
