
A delegation from Al-Karkh University of Science visits the Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Training Institute.
Under the patronage and guidance of the President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Prof. Juma Salman Jihad, a delegation from our university visited the Dean of the Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Training Institute, Major General (Basem Karim Musa). The delegation included the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Kadhim Hilan Mohsen; the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Jaafar Fadhel Awda; the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Dhari Yousef; and the Assistant Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, Assistant Professor Dr. Wadah Mahmoud Shaker.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two sides in various scientific and practical fields, strengthening partnerships between educational and security institutions in the areas of training, scientific research, and the development of scientific skills in the field of investigations and forensic evidence.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Awda stressed the need to familiarize the institute’s teaching staff with the approved curricula in the Department of Forensic Sciences at the College of Science and the possibility of developing them in accordance with the latest internationally recognized curricula. Assistant Professor Dr. Wadah Shaker also emphasized the need to integrate modern technologies in the field of criminal investigation, such as the use of drones equipped with the latest exploration and geological detection devices, which contribute to reducing reliance on traditional tools in the field of criminal investigation.
For his part, Major General Bassem Karim Moussa emphasized that this cooperation will open new horizons for joint work, noting the importance of universities and academic institutions cooperating with security institutions to train staff and students, particularly in advanced study stages, by organizing field visits to the institute to observe the practical aspects. His Excellency added that the institute, with its staff and affiliates, is fully prepared to cooperate and assign specialists from the institute’s teaching staff to conduct visits and hold workshops, seminars, and mutual courses on cybersecurity and other fields related to the university’s departments and colleges.
