
Al-Karkh University of Science organizes an educational seminar on the importance of elections and the mechanism for updating voter data.
Under the patronage and attendance of the President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Prof. Juma Salman Jihad, Al-Karkh University of Science, in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission, organized an educational awareness seminar on the mechanism for updating voter data for university employees. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and staff.
The introductory seminar was attended by specialists from the Independent High Electoral Commission at the Al-Karkh Election Center, including Professor Uday Hassan Abbas, Ms. Israa Hussein Jassim, Professor Mustafa Salam Majeed, and Professor Bilal Ali Abdul. They discussed the electoral process and the mechanism for updating voter data to enhance electoral awareness and the importance of updating voter registry data in ensuring electoral rights.
This seminar was held to highlight the need to understand the mechanism for updating data to ensure the exercise of the constitutional right to vote during elections. It also highlighted the importance of the electoral process in Iraq and its prominent role in building bridges of trust and communication between citizens and the state.
The lecturers explained the Commission’s work mechanism, its efforts to increase registration rates, and the necessity of citizens receiving biometric cards.
The seminar included a detailed presentation of the procedures adopted in the update process and an explanation of the cases requiring updating, such as changing residence, correcting personal data, and other procedures followed to update data according to the steps set by the Commission.
On the sidelines of the seminar, participants participated in discussions, asking questions, and obtaining clarifications from the relevant election committee.
Finally, certificates of appreciation were presented to the lecturers by the President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Professor Juma Salman Jiyad, in appreciation of their efforts in raising educational and awareness-raising topics related to the electoral process and highlighting its importance.
