Signing of a Memorandum of Joint Scientific Cooperation between Al-Karkh University of Science and the Southern Technical University

The President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Professor Juma Salman Jihad, signed a memorandum of joint cooperation with the Southern Technical University, represented by its President, Professor Adnan Abdullah Atiq, on the evening of Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The signing of these agreements comes within the framework of the President of Al-Karkh University of Science’s tireless efforts to establish close academic cooperation with Iraqi universities concerned with scientific affairs, in support of Al-Karkh University of Science’s policies aimed at developing scientific programs and plans to advance its role locally and regionally.

The President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Professor Juma Salman Jihad, stated, “This memorandum will open new horizons for developing cultural and scientific relations with the Southern Technical University, transforming it into a practical working document on the ground, as it contributes to the exchange of ideas and visions between universities and the exchange of available expertise.”

The memorandum includes cooperation in the areas of information exchange, curricula, scientific research, joint academic and scientific activities, organizing training workshops for faculty and students, encouraging cooperation in the field of joint academic supervision, and the possibility of exchanging university professors to conduct joint scientific research and deliver lectures in their fields of specialization. The memorandum also includes cooperation in the areas of academic accreditation, quality assurance, and the exchange of expertise between the two universities to enter international rankings.
