President of Al-Karkh University of Science Inaugurates Five Specialized Laboratories to Enhance the Academic and Research Environment
The President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Prof. Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, inaugurated today five newly established specialized laboratories, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to advance the academic and research standards and to provide a modern educational environment aligned with contemporary scientific requirements.
The newly opened laboratories include: the Environmental Health Laboratory, the Cell Laboratory, the Chemistry Laboratory, the Optical Electronics Laboratory, and the Research Laboratory for Chromatographic Techniques.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Jiyad emphasized that these laboratories represent a key step in the university’s strategic plan to strengthen the infrastructure of its colleges and to establish advanced facilities that keep pace with recent developments in applied sciences. He highlighted that the university prioritizes supporting scientific research and providing a comprehensive learning environment for its students and researchers.
He further noted that the opening of these laboratories marks a qualitative addition to academic work by enhancing the practical and applied aspects of academic programs and enabling researchers to conduct advanced studies using state-of-the-art equipment and technologies. This, he stated, contributes to developing scientific solutions to the environmental and technological challenges facing society.
Accompanying the university president during his tour of the laboratories were the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussein Zaboon Aluway, along with college deans, department heads, and faculty and technical staff from the College of Energy and Environmental Sciences. The delegation reviewed the modern devices and equipment provided to the laboratories and received detailed explanations on their functions and potential to support research projects.
This initiative comes as part of a series of development projects implemented by Al-Karkh University of Science to enhance the quality of higher education and to achieve academic accreditation standards across various scientific disciplines.
