A joint research team from Al-Karkh University of Science and University of Kerbala studies the virus SARS-coV-2 by using the techniques of Bioinformatics

The research team includes Dr. Muhammad Jawad Al-Jassani from Al-Karkh University of Science and Dr. Zahra Ali Kamaz fro University of Kerbala.

In the study, the team was able to find new compounds that are effective in inhibiting the virus's association with receptors as well as inhibiting the entry of the virus into the cells and inhibiting the enzyme protease that is important in grouping the virus for itself within cells. 

This study is the first of its kind at the level of Iraq to find effective and safe therapeutic compounds without side effects.

The research team confirmed that it will continue to work to put these compounds into practice and in accordance with the requirements of international organizations. We ask Almighty God all success.
