A Lecture at Al-Karkh University of Science on salt water treatment
The college of Energy and Environmental Sciences at Al-Karkh University of Science organized a lecture on salt water treatment, with the participation of a number of faculty members and specialists. The lecture presented by Dr. Muhammad Abbas Kazim, focuses on methods to improve the specifications of treatment of salt water, and a study of the reasons for salinity of water, including the low level of rivers and the difficulty of obtaining water from second sources due to the high cost.
The lecture included explaining the reverse osmosis for salty water to the Shatt al-Arab, as an important source of water, providing requirements, as well as developing the treatment methods of salty water with nanostructures and increasing their efficiency from important research in this field.
Dr. Mohamed Abbas said that adding bentonite nanoparticles inside the reverse osmosis, studying their specifications, and improving the specifications of the amount of water produced and the amount of rejected salts provides us with an important source of fresh water.
