
A scientific project at Al-Karkh University of Science wins the sponsorship of IREX
A research team at Karkh University of Science was able to complete a distinguished scientific project on the use of geological masks to discover the best types of soil suitable for afforestation, so that the project won the sponsorship of IREX as one of the best research projects.
Prof. Dr. Thamer Abdul-Amir Hassan, President of Karkh University of Science, said that the sponsorship consists of several steps and the participation of the implementation of the project with a partner from an American university, sponsoring the financing of the implementation stages by the organization, and developing a final design for the project.
He added, "The achievement will ensure obtaining a contract to implement a scientific cooperation project funded by the organization, which serves to establish a afforestation project that serves Baghdad's environment and protects it from the effects of climate change and dust and sand storms."
He stressed that the university is keen to strengthen and develop global partnerships with international organizations.
Noting that the university has made exceptional efforts to keep pace with developments and changes in order to achieve the goals that serve the community, including supporting clean and renewable energy projects.
