A symposium at Al-Karkh University of Science on Renewable Energies Resources
In collaboration with Professional Association in Modern Manufacturing Technologies (Mod Tech), College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, Al-Karkh University of Science organized a symposium entitled "Renewable Energies Resources, a solution or a hoax?'' in the presence of a number of the College Professors, the Head of the Association and specialists in the field of energy in the Iraqi Universities and Ministry of Environment.
The symposium included giving a definition of the alternative energies sources and the methods used to extract this energy and the reason of using it, as well as discussing the pros and cons of using these energies on the materialistic and biological level.
The symposium addressed how to exploit bio-energy sources and investing it in producing clean energy, and how to build and design cities in a way that will help to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and depending on alternative energies.
The symposium came up with several recommendations including the necessity of relying on appropriate methods in the recruitment of alternative energies without affecting the humans' life and other organisms and not dispense with oil as being the most important source of the national income in Iraq, and taking serious steps to exploit natural gas instead of burning it.
