A training course at Al-Karkh University of Science on the treatment of satellite images with the sensor Landsat8 OLI
The College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics at Al-Karkh University of Science organized a training course on the processing of satellite images with Landsat8 OLI sensor, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The course, which was presented by Dr. Oras Mohi Taha, included a practical management of presenting the most important tools of the ENVI program, and how to identify the spectral and statistical aspects of the satellite image through the tools of this program with the implementation of the procedure of radiometric calibration of the space image with removal procedure for the dark areas and conducting FLACASH Atmospheric Correction, non-Guided and Guided Classification and Calculation of Spectral Guides, as well as Calculation of Thermal Atmospheres Correction.
The aim of the course is to inform researchers and academics about the potential of the ENVI program in digital processing of the satellite image taken by the sensor Landsat8 OLI, in addition to the management of digital processing products, providing users with digital spectral and thermal matrices to serve their research through the preparation of objective maps reflecting the most important natural characteristics of the region of their work.
