
A workshop at Al-Karkh University for Science on adopting the Bologna track in Iraqi universities
Under the auspices of the chancellor of Al-Karkh University for Sciences, Prof. Dr. Thamer Abdulameer Hasan, and under the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Luay Kazem Abboud, the Registration and Student Affairs Department at Al-Karkh University for Sciences, in cooperation with the University's Continuing Education Center, held a workshop entitled (Adopting the Bologna Path in Iraqi Universities ) In the presence of a number of directors of scientific departments, teaching staff, and university employees.
The workshop aims to introduce the Bologna system, the purpose and objectives of the system, and the labor market need that the system mainly aims for, which has been widely emphasized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to join the developed countries that adopt it.
The workshop included a lecture by the Director of the Student Affairs and Registration Department at the university (Professor Ahmed Abd Anbar), in which he gave a detailed explanation of the mechanism for applying this system, the number of units required for graduation, the semesters, the classification of subjects, including preliminary and supplementary subjects, and a breakdown of scheduled and unscheduled hours. And other activities to determine the European units required for each semester, and the learning outcomes of this track.
UNESCO had praised the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to adopt the (Bologna Process) in Iraqi universities, and described the decision as an important factor in enhancing the quality of education in Iraq.
