About the Department
The department is considered one of the most important and effective departments within the University Presidency. It is one of the departments affiliated with the Office of the Assistant President for Academic Affairs, which works to organize, develop, and continuously monitor the various research and scientific activities and outcomes of the university.
The role of the Academic Affairs Department generally includes monitoring the university’s academic outcomes, including scientific research and publishing, encouraging joint internal scientific research and international cooperation with the aim of raising the level of national research, scientific activities (conferences, discussion panels, and seminars), patents, publications, and everything related to developing and motivating researchers to produce distinguished intellectual output.
Department Tasks:
Preparing, approving, and monitoring the implementation rates of the university’s annual research plan.
Monitoring research activity and scientific publishing at the university and establishing a database for them.
Completing research leave applications for faculty members.
Processing patent registration procedures and preparing databases and statistics on patents for researchers at the university.
Mechanisms for scientific cooperation and twinning with colleges and private universities.
Government Program.
Issuing administrative orders for travel and assignments within and outside Iraq for faculty members.
Circulating conferences and seminars related to universities, ministries, and various institutions to the university’s colleges, departments, and centers.
