
Al-Karkh University of Science Discusses the Ministry of Agriculture’s Need for Scientific Specializations
The Chancellor of Al-Karkh University for Sciences, Prof. Dr. Thamer Abdulameer Hasan, visited His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Jabr Al-Olayawi, to congratulate him on his assumption of the position, and to discuss the possibility of joint cooperation and the mechanism for investing the university's graduates.
Dr. Thamer said during the meeting that "the establishment of university departments and faculties comes within the framework of the national development plan, and after a study of the needs of the labor market and state institutions that must keep pace with modern technologies such as remote sensing and geophysics in their field and laboratory work".
He further added that "the university attaches great importance to the issue of international accreditation in education, as it will be the true measure of the extent to which it keeps pace with progress in higher education".
The Chancellor of the University noted the need for the Ministry of Agriculture to cooperate with the university in transforming the university's second site in Abu Ghraib sector into a (green university), which relies entirely on natural energy sources, and invests in green spaces and maintains their sustainability.
For his part, His Excellency, Minister Al-Olayawi emphasized that the cooperation of state institutions and the investment of university graduates, especially graduates of departments and colleges with rare specialization, is important in keeping pace with the revolution of scientific, research and practical progress.
He pointed out that the ministry is fully prepared to cooperate with Al-Karkh University of Science in everything that serves the scientific aspects, with an emphasis on investing the students of the Faculty of Remote Sensing and Geophysics.
