Al-Karkh University of Science Launches a Campaign to Distribute Water to Pilgrims of the Holy Imams During the Month of Muharram

In light of its commitment to supporting pilgrims of Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein and the infallible Imams (peace be upon them), and considering the high temperatures during the pilgrimage season to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), Al-Karkh University of Science, under the guidance of the University President, Prof. Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, and with the supervision and presence of the Directors of the Departments of Student Activities and Media & Government Communication, organized a humanitarian initiative.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Central Committee for Volunteer Work at the university launched a campaign to distribute cold water to pilgrims of the Holy Imams.

The campaign also included providing advice and guidance to pilgrims, stressing the importance of avoiding direct sunlight, walking along the routes designated by the holy shrines in coordination with security authorities, and using umbrellas for protection and public health. Pilgrims expressed their gratitude for this generous initiative, praising the university’s role in supporting and caring for social activities, and wishing the university continued success in serving the educational mission of our beloved country.
