Al-Karkh University of Science Organizes a Festival to Revive the Iraqi Heritage
The Department of Student Activities at Al-Karkh University of Science organized a festival to revive the Iraqi heritage. The festival was in cooperation with the Meeting of the Brothers Association. This association is related to the professions and popular hobbies. The festival was attended by a number of students and instructors.
The festival, which was held under the theme of "Our Heritage is Our Identity," included a collection of works of art related to the Iraqi and Baghdadi heritage, Iraqi folklore costumes, and a number of paintings on Iraq's history. Old coins, postage stamps and photos on the history of Iraq and Baghdad were also presented in the festival.
The Vice- Chancellor for administrative and financial affairs Dr. Raed Noufi said that “the festival today is a bright picture, reflecting the sophistication of the skilled artists in creating their works, including paintings, antiques, and musical instruments— instruments whose sounds are mixed with the breeze of The Tigris, listening to the North wind, and now spreading in the campus of Al-Karkh University of Science.”
He added that “the products offered to participants in the festival have the goal of reviving the ancient heritage of Iraq as the identity of the country and this is the responsibility of every honorable citizen in this country.”
