Al-Karkh University of Science organizes a lecture on the role of the university in supporting the medical and health effort in the face of the Corona virus pandemic
As a part of the activities of the official electronic platform of the university, Al-Karkh University of Science organized a lecture entitled: "The role of Al-Karkh University of Science in supporting the medical and health effort in the face of the Corona virus pandemic"
The lecture, given by Dr. Mahdi Haider Hammadi, Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs in the College of Science, Al-Karkh University of Science, and the faculty member in the College of Science at the University, Dr. Ali Abdul Karim, included a detailed explanation of the role that Al-Karkh University plays in supporting health staff to confront the Corona virus by establishing Voluntary awareness campaigns, establishing awareness-raising and scientific workshops, establishing a consulting clinic for pathological analyses at the University , as well as putting the University of Science at the disposal of the Al-Karkh Department of Health
The lecture included a review of scientific studies on the spread of Coronavirus and the reasons for its transmission and spread in China and then to all parts of the world. The lecture also included the important tests followed by a protocol in the world in detecting the Corona virus such as, PCR and Chest Computed Tomography
The lecture included an explanation of the most important vaccines, drugs and manufactured antibiotics that are still under experiment and research for the treatment of Coronavirus, such as hydrochlorokine, Azithromycin and remdecifer. Finally, the lecture presented the most important ways to prevent corona virus, such as social distancing, wearing masks, personal hygiene, disinfecting places and food, and avoiding animal contact as much as possible.
The lecture aims to explain the role played by Al-Karkh University of Science in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic since its appearance and up to now in order to increase awareness of the risks of this virus and to keep abreast of scientific research with regard to vaccine production in addition to raising awareness of ways to protect against this virus.
