Al-Karkh University of Science organizes a workshop on solar cells and their performance evaluation in photovoltaic concentrators

The Department of Studies and Planning, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at Al-Karkh University of Science, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Solar Cells and their Performance Evaluation in Photovoltaic Concentrators”, with the attendance of a number of academics, researchers and students specialized in the fields of energy and electrical engineering.

The workshop aims to support scientific research and enhance knowledge in the fields of renewable energy, and to review the latest developments in solar cell technology and ways to improve their efficiency in concentrated photovoltaic systems.

The workshop included a lecture presented by the university lecturer (Mr. Hussein Faleh Hussein), through which he addressed a number of main axes, most notably the techniques for classifying solar cells and evaluating their performance in multiple environments, in addition to the latest trends in improving the efficiency of solar cells using photovoltaic concentrator technologies, and discussing the challenges and opportunities offered by this technology in improving solar energy production, as well as presenting practical experiments to measure the performance of solar cells using modern technologies to improve the level of utilization of renewable energy.

During the workshop, the lecturer stressed the importance of research and development in the field of renewable energy, noting that such workshops contribute to spreading the culture of innovation and help in adopting modern technological solutions that contribute to achieving environmental sustainability and clean energy.

At the end of the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion for participants on ways to apply research results in applied projects at the level of Iraq and the region, stressing the need for cooperation between universities and research institutions to develop innovative solutions in the field of renewable energy.

It is worth noting that Al-Kharkh University of Sciences is constantly seeking to organize scientific events that support innovation and enhance its participation in environmental and technological issues at the local and international levels.
