
Al-Karkh University of Science organizes the annual meeting of the Association of Nanotechnology – Iraq Branch in the presence of the Union of Scientific Research Councils
Al-Karkh University of Science organized the annual meeting of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch, in the presence of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils
The meeting included a speech delivered by the President of Al-Karkh University of Science and the President of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch, Prof. Dr.. Thamer Abdul-Amir Hassan, through which he blessed the attendees with the advent of Eid Al-Fitr, praying to God Almighty to grant everyone goodness and blessing.
The meeting also included a speech by A. Dr.. Imad Owais, President of the National Center for the Development of Metals Research and President of the Association for Nanotechnology Materials Science in the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils. The speech included a presentation of the goals of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the areas of research and development that the union is concerned with, the mechanisms for implementing the union's mechanisms, in addition to the research and scientific projects completed by the union.
The meeting included several recommendations, the most important of which is the recommendation of the President of Al-Karkh University of Science and the President of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch a. Dr.. Thamer Abdul-Amir Hassan emphasized the activation of Arab cooperation between the brotherly countries, the increase of the exchange of scientific research, the mechanisms of discreet electronic publishing, and scientific and laboratory exchange programmes.
The meeting concluded with a scientific lecture presented by the Head of the Medical Physics Department at the College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science, Prof. NS. Dr. Fadel Karim Farhan, and the lecture was titled "Using nanocomposites in bone and dental prostheses." The lecture aims to present the importance of the properties of nanocomposites and their applications in several areas, the most important of which are in the processes of friction and corrosion, marine applications, fuels, thin films and applications used in the medical field.
It is noteworthy that this meeting is part of a series of leaders’ meetings organized by Al-Karkh University of Science, as it is the headquarters of the Association, and the meetings are coordinated by the Coordinator of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch and the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at Al-Karkh University of Science.
