
Al-Karkh University of Science organizes the second annual meeting of the Association of Nanotechnology – Iraq Branch
Al-Karkh University of Science organized the second annual meeting of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch, with the participation of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils and representatives of Iraqi ministries and universities.
The meeting included a speech delivered by the President of Al-Karkh University of Science and the President of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch, Prof. Dr.. Thamer Abdul-Amir Hassan, in which he presented a summary of the activities of the Association of Nanotechnology – Iraq Branch, which is considered the Karkh University of Science as the center of the Association in Iraq.
The meeting also included a speech delivered by Mr. (Prof. Dr. Mubarak Mohamed Ali Majzoub), Secretary General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, and Mr. (Prof. Dr. Imad Owais), President of the National Center for the Development of Metals Research and President of the Association for Materials Science Nanotechnology in the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils. Presenting the objectives of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the areas of research and development that the Union is concerned with, the mechanisms for implementing the Union's mechanisms, in addition to the research and scientific projects completed by the Union.
The meeting included a discussion of several axes, including: the membership requirement system for the Association, the proposed annual scientific curriculum for the Association for the year 2022, and naming the heads and members of the association’s working committees.
The meeting came out with several recommendations, the most important of which is the recommendation of the President of Al-Karkh University of Science and the President of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch a. Dr.. Thamer Abdul-Amir Hassan, naming the “Nanoscientific Creativity Award” and emphasizing the activation of Arab cooperation between fraternal countries, increasing the exchange of scientific research, sober electronic publishing mechanisms, and scientific and laboratory exchange programmes.
It is noteworthy that this meeting is part of a series of meetings organized by Al-Karkh University of Science, as it is the headquarters of the Association, and the meetings are coordinated by the Coordinator of the Nanotechnology Association – Iraq Branch and the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at Al-Karkh University of Science.
