Al-Karkh University of Science participates in a workshop for “the lunch of StarPack competition 2017”
An academic delegation from the University headed by the Chancellor participated in the workshop for the "the lunch of the first edition of Arab Student StarPack competition 2017" which was organized by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the Iraqi Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.
The workshop aimed to introduce the StarPack competition 2017 which is organized by UNIDO and LibanPack and addressed to university students in the Arab Countries. It included a lecture given by Mr. Issa Albetony, an expert in UNIDO where he explained the importance of packaging in the promotion and marketing of products and maintaining atmospheric climate and storage volatility. He mentioned as well the challenges that facing the packaging such as the regulations that govern the country and the inadequacy of some of the techniques in packing due to the living situation of some countries. He stated "the mission of organizing this competition is to ensuring an inclusive and sustainable development through industrial development by involving the youth and providing them with an invaluable opportunity to unleash their creativity and upgrade the packaging of their national products".
For his part, the Chancellor of Al-Karkh University expressed his readiness to support creative students at the University to participate in this competition or any scientific activity that will help improving their skills and developing the national production in the Iraqi labor market.
