
Al-Karkh University of Science Participates in the University Festival of Fine Arts of Al-Furat Al-Awsat University
The Student Activities Department and a number of students of Al-Karkh University of Science participated in the University Festival of Fine Arts of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat University, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Yasser Al-Aboudi, and a number of university Chancellors.
On its first day, the festival included a meeting of heads of delegations, and on the second day, the opening of the plastic arts exhibition. On its third day, the festival included the launch of the free drawing competition, and on the fourth day, the announcement of the results of the free drawing competition.
The university's participation was represented by a number of various handicrafts, free drawing, plastic art, abstract art, landscape, portraiture, and Arabic calligraphy.
His Excellency the Minister said during his speech at the opening of the festival that "the artistic embodiment of creative capabilities is equivalent in terms of importance to scientific tests performed by universities and taken by students during or at the end of semesters to measure the indicator of educational achievement".
The Minister of Education stated that the university departments are required to pay attention to these activities and focus on the student, his talents and potentials, and work to meet them in an optimal manner, indicating that the consolidation of the creative university environment represents a revealing means through which the university level can be assessed and the extent of its interaction with its goals, educational programs and plans in the short, medium and strategic terms and to state its dealings with the human element, which is the most important component in the educational process.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored the representatives of forty-five public and private universities and colleges who participated in the Fine Arts Festival. He also reviewed the various artistic events in the fields of painting, sculpture and plastic arts, and toured the corridors of the art exhibition, which hosted a group of creative participants.
