Al-Karkh University of Science Soars in the Global Sky and for the First Time Enters the Shimaco International SCImago (SIR) Classification of Institutions.
Al-Karkh University of Science is flying in the global sky and for the first time is included in the Shimako International Classification (SCImago) (SIR) for academic and research institutions, as our university achieved 39th place among Iraqis out of 47 universities included in the classification.
The Shimaco classification is one of the goals of the government program of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and is no less important than the Chinese Shanghai classification. The Shimaco classification represents 50% of the total points that must be available to enter the QS classification and the British Times World Classification, which are approved in the Scopus database.
It is worth noting that the Shimaco classification was issued by Scopus for data on researchers and the scientific research base published on university accounts, where a composite index is used that reflects three main criteria: research performance, innovation, and societal impact measured through their appearance on the web.
