Al-Karkh University of Sciences Holds its Industrial Advisory Council Meeting
Under the patronage and attendance of the President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences, Prof. Jumaa Salman Jihad, the university held its first meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council. All committee members and formations within the university were present, along with specialists from the public and private sectors.
The meeting discussed the importance of supporting students in implementing projects and its role in reducing unemployment rates. It also discussed the need for administrative and technical entities to provide requirements through training courses and the promotion of important projects.
This meeting aimed to introduce the nature of companies’ work in line with the nature of their work in the public and private sectors, based on their alignment with the university’s work.
The meeting also addressed development in the academic sector through partnerships with the labor market through curricula, study programs, non-academic skills, scientific research, training, and development. It also addressed ways to develop cooperation between the university, the industrial and banking sectors, professional unions, and the community, enhancing student training opportunities, and highlighting the existence of academic exchange between the two sides. The meeting also reviewed the most prominent challenges facing the labor market and the possibility of providing modern technical solutions.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to organize visits and hold ongoing meetings to establish work coordination standards and develop curricula based on market needs. Work
The Council recommended the necessity of providing cooperative and vocational training for students, utilizing academic expertise in business development, organizing joint scientific and community events, and exchanging relevant data and studies.
