Al-Kharkh University of Science participates in the launch ceremony of accreditation standards for science specialization programs
A delegation headed by the President of Al-Karkh University for Science, Prof. Dr. Thamer Abdul-Amir Al-Kadhimi, and the membership of the deans of the Colleges of Science and the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Energy and Environmental Sciences, participated in the launch ceremony of accreditation standards for science programs, which was held by the National Council for Accreditation of Science Programs and under the supervision of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority and in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Department / Academic Accreditation Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with a wide presence of representatives of the Ministry, in addition to academics from various Iraqi universities and experts in the field of higher education.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Thamer Al-Kadhimi, said that the participation of Al-Karkh University for Science in this ceremony, which was held in the Al-Idrisi Hall in the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, came as an expression of its continuous commitment to enhancing the quality of education and scientific research in science specializations.
These standards aim to improve the quality of education and ensure that academic programs are consistent with the latest global trends in the field of science, and to raise the level of these programs and ensure their conformity with the best international practices.
The new national standards include a set of basic principles that focus on developing curricula, enhancing scientific research skills, and ensuring the availability of the necessary infrastructure to provide distinguished scientific education. It also takes into account the needs of the labor market and developments in modern technology.
The ministry explained that this step comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of higher education and raise the level of graduates of scientific specializations, which contributes to driving the wheel of sustainable development and innovation in the country.
The ministry confirmed that all academic institutions will be subject to periodic evaluation based on these standards to ensure their commitment to national standards and achieve the desired goals.
