
Director of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at the Ministry of Higher Education holds a meeting with scholarship students at Al-Karkh University of Science
As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to invest in young national talent and employ advanced scientific expertise, the Director of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at the Ministry, Dr. Hazem Abdul Razzaq Abdul Amir Al-Zubaidi, held an expanded meeting with scholarship students at Al-Karkh University of Science. The meeting was attended by the University President, Professor Jumaa Salman Jiyad, the deans, and a number of academic and teaching officials at the university.
The meeting discussed several topics related to the mechanisms for integrating returning academic talent into the university’s faculty and assigning them to academic and scientific positions commensurate with their specializations and experience. This is part of the Ministry’s strategy to support universities with qualified scientific talent.
The meeting also addressed the expansion of horizontal development of departments and colleges to meet the requirements of the labor market and modern specializations. It also discussed projects to establish advanced scientific laboratories that keep pace with technological developments and contribute to supporting students’ research and educational progress.
The Director of the Department of Studies and Planning emphasized the importance of harnessing the potential of scholarship students and benefiting from their experiences, not only at their universities, but also across all government ministries and departments.
The meeting featured contributions from scholarship students, who emphasized their keenness to harness their knowledge and expertise to serve the educational and research process in Iraq. The deans also presented their proposals regarding mechanisms for benefiting from returning scholarship students and their role in supporting the scientific research environment and curriculum development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director emphasized that the Ministry places great importance on national scientific competencies and is working to provide an appropriate environment for them to effectively contribute to the development of higher education institutions and achieve its strategic goals of advancing the scientific and research level of Iraqi universities.
