An overview of the internal departments:
The Department of Internal Departments Affairs was established at our university during the 2019/2020 academic year at the university’s second campus, Abu Ghraib. The department reports directly to the university president and to the Academic Supervision and Evaluation Department at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The Department of Internal Departments Affairs consists of the following divisions: the Legal and Administrative Division, the Student Housing Division, the Social Research Division, the Maintenance and Services Division, the Accounts Division, the Warehouses Division, and the Complex Management Division, as detailed in the attached university orders.
There are two student housing complexes at our university: the Mustafa Al-Athari Complex for male students and the Umaima Jabara Complex for female students, both at the university campus, Abu Ghraib.
The most important tasks assigned to the Department of Internal Departments Affairs and its affiliated divisions:
- The Legal and Administrative Division is responsible for carrying out administrative work and official correspondence between the university presidency and other external entities.
- Students from other governorates are received and registered by the Student Housing Division in the department via an electronic form via the Ur portal. A special ID card is issued for them in the dormitory.
- The Social Research Division holds awareness lectures and seminars, in addition to organizing sports and literary activities and events for dormitory students.
- Providing all necessary housing requirements for students by furnishing all rooms with furniture, electrical appliances, beds, bathrooms, and kitchens suitable for student housing.
- Morning and evening supervision of students residing in the complexes. Information staff monitor students’ entry and exit to and from the complexes, recording their attendance and departure in a designated register.
- The director visits the dormitory periodically to assess the level of services and discipline of staff and guards, and to ensure that the complex administration is performing its duties properly.
- Continuous periodic maintenance is carried out by the Maintenance and Services Division for all electrical appliances, generators, blacksmithing, carpentry, crafts, and agricultural work, in coordination with the Office Affairs Department and the Construction and Projects Department within the University Presidency. The Accounting Department performs accounting work by disbursing funds from the Internal Sections Support Fund to the department’s committees after obtaining official approvals from the Chairman of the Internal Sections Support Fund Council.
- Supervising the entry and exit of internal section materials by the Warehouses Division and monitoring furniture and consumables in the complexes.
