Faculty members from the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics at Al-Kharkh University of Science, Dr. Mohammed Mahdi Sami, Dr. Moataz Jalil Juma, and Dr. Tamara Ahmed Abdul Karim, published a joint study titled “Low progesterone levels and their role in the co-existence of polycystic ovary syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis: a comprehensive analysis among Iraqi patients” in The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, published by the international publishing house Elsevier.
The study examined the relationship between polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), focusing on a comprehensive analysis of progesterone levels in Iraqi patients with PCOS.
The study aimed to develop a scientific model for assessing progesterone levels as a predictor of future rheumatoid arthritis in patients.
The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has a Scopus Q1 ranking, with an impact factor (IF: 2.7) and a Cite score (Cite score: 8.6).
