His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research congratulates and approves the development and rehabilitation plan for Al-Karkh University of Science
In a move that reflects the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s interest in Al-Karkh University of Science, the university’s president, Professor Jumaa Salman Jihad, visited the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to review a mechanism for developing and rehabilitating the university’s departments. This plan aims to advance the university’s status, given its lack of funding and infrastructure, and to work on developing its academic and administrative capabilities, given its young status.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Education welcomed these serious steps that will transform the university’s status. His Excellency approved the development and rehabilitation plan for all university departments, which includes several key areas, the most important of which are:
- Establishing three colleges that meet the requirements of the labor market and keep pace with global developments compared to international universities.
- Establishing the Higher Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology.
3- Establishing three scientific journals to enhance scholarly publishing and prepare the university for inclusion in international rankings.
4- Modernizing and rehabilitating the infrastructure, developing administrative and financial work, and maximizing the university’s financial resources.
For his part, Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, President of the University, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the continued support of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, by harnessing the Ministry’s financial and human resources to support the university in all its aspects. At the same time, His Excellency the Minister stated that the Ministry will support the university and provide all necessary facilities, whether administrative, human, or material.
In conclusion, the University President, Dr. Jumaa Jiyad, explained his ongoing efforts to improve the academic environment and enhance the level of services provided to students, faculty, and administrative staff alike. He indicated that the university is working to implement this plan within the framework of a future vision aimed at strengthening its scientific and research standing at the local and international levels.
