President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences Receives a Delegation from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)

Professor Jumaa Salman Jihad, President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences, received a delegation from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in his office. The delegation included Mr. Baraa Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Central Branch, and Dr. Ahmed Karim Al-Husseini, the Financial Officer (member of the branch’s Board of Directors).

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the university to hold workshops and seminars with international oil companies. This will create job opportunities and market graduates (from the Faculties of Science, Remote Sensing and Geophysics, and Environmental and Health Sciences) to ensure they are in line with the job market.

For his part, Professor Jumaa Jihad emphasized the university’s full readiness to enhance cooperation between the two parties, given that the SPE is a professional, non-profit organization that seeks to exchange scientific research, knowledge, and innovation, and to develop technical and professional competencies related to the exploration, development, and production of oil, gas, and related energy resources, to achieve a secure and sustainable energy future.

Prof. Juma Salman Jiyad also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the representatives of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, expressing his hope that this cooperation will continue to implement its future programs and achieve its strategic goals.
