President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences Receives Member of Parliamentary Finance Committee on Assumption of Presidency
Professor Jumaa Salman Jiyad, President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences, received in his office MP Moeen Al-Kadhimi, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee. The guest congratulated the President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences on his assumption of the presidency.
Dr. Jumaa Jiyad welcomed MP Moeen Al-Kadhimi’s visit. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation and ways to strengthen relations between the legislative and academic branches. He also discussed the contribution and support of the Council of Representatives in enacting laws that serve the work of academic institutions. He expressed his university’s readiness to bridge the gap and strengthen relations between the legislative and academic institutions, as both serve the country.
For his part, MP Moeen Al-Kadhimi praised the role of Al-Karkh University of Sciences in providing state institutions with scientific and academic expertise, demonstrating its leadership in important scientific disciplines and supporting the labor market’s needs for specialized scientific personnel. He also praised its active role in scientific research and its development at both the scientific and practical levels.
Dr. Jumaa Jiyad expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Speaker for this visit, indicating his continued efforts to strengthen the university’s standing, improve the quality of education and scientific research, and position the university among the most advanced universities locally and internationally.
At the conclusion of the visit, Deputy Speaker Moeen Al-Kadhimi presented a bouquet of flowers to Professor Jumaa Jiyad, expressing his happiness at this occasion and wishing the University President continued success in leading this young academic institution.
The University President emphasized the importance and necessity of cooperating with the legislative authority and utilizing its expertise to support the university in legislative and financial aspects to advance its status and enhance its work. He noted that these meetings contribute to improving educational outcomes and strengthening the role of institutions in achieving sustainable development.
