Signing of a Memorandum of Joint Scientific Cooperation between Al-Karkh University of Science and Basra University of Oil and Gas

With the aim of achieving sustainable development goals, increasing joint cooperation in all scientific, research, and technical fields, and establishing a joint working relationship to advance education, Al-Karkh University of Science and Basra University of Oil and Gas signed a Memorandum of Joint Cooperation on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025. Al-Karkh University of Science was represented by its President, Professor Juma Salman Jiyad, while Basra University of Oil and Gas was represented by its President, Professor Mohammed Halil Hafiz Al-Kaabi.

The memorandum included cooperation in the areas of information exchange, curricula, scientific research, and joint academic and research activities. It also included organizing workshops and training courses for faculty and students, encouraging cooperation in the field of joint scientific supervision, and the possibility of exchanging university professors to conduct joint scientific research and deliver lectures in their fields of specialization, in addition to holding scientific conferences. The memorandum also included cooperation in the areas of academic accreditation, quality assurance, and the exchange of expertise between the two universities to achieve international rankings.
