The Department of Media and Government Communication at Al-Kharkh University of Science organizes a scientific workshop on reducing illegal immigration.

The Department of Media and Government Communication, in cooperation with the Department of Continuing Education at Al-Kharkh University of Science, organized a scientific workshop entitled (Reducing Illegal Immigration: Causes and Consequences) in the Hall of the Martyrs of Iraq, in which Dr. Firas Ismail Khamis, Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication, lectured.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness among faculty members, employees and students about the negative effects of illegal immigration and the dangers of false temptations on social media pages, and to alert them to plans aimed at emptying the country of young talents and energies, as they are the country’s real wealth that contributes to construction and development.

The lecturer discussed that illegal immigration is either entering a country legally, or entering illegally and remaining in the country and not leaving within the specified period according to the laws in force in those countries that allow for staying. He also discussed the reasons for immigration and the consequences of illegal immigration, in addition to their exposure to exploitation and health damages and not being covered by health insurance and being persecuted by security personnel and being tried by the authorities of those countries. He also reviewed pictures of cases of arrests of immigrants who left their countries. It is worth noting that the university has carried out several awareness campaigns and published posters in the university corridors and colleges and distributed brochures to students to inform them of illegal immigration and the serious consequences resulting from it.
