
The president of A-Karkh University of Science discusses the recommendations of the meeting of the Arab Association of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials
The President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Dr. Thamir A. Hassan, discussed the executive plans and procedures for the establishment of the Arab strategy for scientific and technological Research, led by Al-Karkh University of Science after holding the meeting of the Association of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials as an Arab Center for the Association in Iraq at level of the Arab world.
This came during the reception of the President of the Department of Metal Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jassim Al-Tamimi and Head of Mining and Extraction Engineering Department from the Department of Production and Metal Engineering at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Sami Ibrahim Al – Rubaie.
During the meeting, the university president said, "the university is determined to develop the basic infrastructure that will make the university an Arab center for the Arab Association of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials. We attended the meeting as representatives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail, on March 12, 2019 in Cairo and the meeting was held as a part of the sideline of the International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering for the period from 11 to 13 March in the Arab Republic of Egypt "
The University President added, "Al-Karkh University of Science is determined to engage strongly in the localization of modern technologies, to encourage and sponsor Iraqi and Arab researchers and scientists, in order to develop Arab scientific and technological capabilities, to promote scientific research institutions and to consolidate the efforts of Arab scientific research through the initiative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Arab students by granting Arab students free admission by incurring the housing expenses in order to activate Arab partnerships in research, development, innovation, and find ways to organize these partnerships with institutional initiatives led by Al-Karkh University of Science in Iraq"
The meeting also reviewed the research presented by Prof. Dr. Sami Al-Rubaie at the Conference of Science and Materials Engineering, which has raised the interest of researchers in Egypt to find new technology to extract silicon from sand and sediments.
At the end of the meeting, there was a discussion of the preparations being made by Al-Karkh University of Science for the establishment of its next international conference in the Russian Federation Republic in the city of Kazan.
