
The President of Al-Karkh University of Science attended the central celebration at the University of Baghdad on the occasion of Iraqi Academic Day.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and organized and supervised by the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, the celebration was attended by the Prime Minister’s representative, Dr. Ali Razouki Al-Lami, members of the House of Representatives, university presidents, deans, and faculty members from public and private universities.
The President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Professor Jumaa Salman Jihad, participated in the celebration, which was held at the university in Baghdad’s Al-Hakim Hall. The celebration was attended by university presidents, a number of university professors and researchers, as well as prominent official and academic figures.
The ceremony included a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a poetry reading.
In addition, a speech was delivered by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, representing Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. The speech was attended by a crowd of academics and parliamentary figures. He emphasized that the focus on development has been and continues to be the cornerstone of academic performance. He also reviewed the achievements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the recent past, including the establishment of the Scientific Research Authority, the internationalization of education, linking academic programs to global changes, securing the path to Iraqi certification, increasing the Iraqi scientific research index in the rankings, and attracting more than three thousand international students to Iraqi universities.
For his part, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Dr. Ali Maseer, praised the care and attention shown by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, in managing the education sector and its universities, and achieving the highest level of positive academic performance for Iraqi universities in the context of global rankings and rankings.
The ceremony concluded with honoring some heads of public and private universities, some professors wounded during operations to liberate areas from ISIS, representatives of the Academics Syndicate, and a number of distinguished researchers.
