
The University of Karkh Council for Sciences held a new session to discuss issues that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The University of Karkh Council for Sciences held its regular session, chaired by the University President, Professor Jumaa Salman Jiyad, and attended by all Council members. During the session, a number of vital issues and projects were discussed that contribute to advancing the educational, research, and administrative processes at the university.
The University President and the University Council expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, for his unlimited support and his blessing of the university’s scientific, administrative, and infrastructure development plan. This plan aims to establish new colleges, departments, and laboratories within the university, which achieves the third, eighth, ninth, and sixteenth paragraphs of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Council also discussed the process of utilizing the expertise of returning students on scholarships from foreign universities and the need to employ them and utilize their research capabilities by establishing research groups and advancing research work at the university. The University President also emphasized the provision of all necessary resources and logistical support for undergraduate student exams for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Council discussed a number of issues of interest to the University and its institutions.
Dr. Rafi Abbas Hassan, Secretary of the Council, stated that these decisions come within the framework of the University’s commitment to providing the best educational and research services to students, professors, and university staff, which will contribute to strengthening the University’s position locally and globally.
