Workshop at Al-Karkh University about preparing tenders, analyzing tenders and managing contracts

Al-Karkh University of Science organized a workshop on preparing tenders, analyzing tenders and managing contracts in cooperation with the Iraqi Engineers Association. The course was attended by a large number of academics and experts. The course was held at the central auditorium in the Iraqi Engineers Association.

The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Rafa Abbas Hassan, the Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics. He presented three axes, including the preparation of tenders. He explained that most of the problems that occur in the state contracts start with a percentage of 75% in the preparation of tenders due to the ignorance and lack of expertise. The course included the second axis: analysis of bids. It was stressed that the speed of this step is based on the step of preparing the tender in terms of clarity and confusion in concepts. The third axis referred to the terms of the contract and the preparation of the tender. He stressed that the most important conditions of the contract and the preparation of the tenderness depend on the accuracy of the presentation and preparation of the tender. All these steps require deep experience in this field. He also pointed out that the committees responsible for these three joints depend on the experience.

The workshop aims to develop the capabilities of employees in the departments responsible for contracts and different specialties of their employees to provide services to the community and academic and financial institutions.
