Under the patronage of the President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences, Prof. Juma Salman Jihad, an awareness seminar entitled “The Dangers of Drugs and the Impact of Psychotropic Substances on the Individual and Society” was held at Al-Karkh University of Sciences. The seminar was organized by the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education. A number of faculty members, affiliates, and students attended the seminar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar aimed to raise awareness among students and the academic community about the negative effects of drugs and psychotropic substances and highlight ways to prevent them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar included lectures delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Muqdad Salah al-Din Ahmed and Major Muhannad Anwar Hashem from the Ministry of Interior, and university lecturer M.M. Sara Habib al-Saadi. The lectures addressed the types of drugs, the causes of drug use, the stages of addiction, and the health, psychological, social, and economic consequences of using these substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecturers emphasized the importance of ongoing awareness-raising and cooperation between educational, security, and health institutions to limit the spread of this dangerous scourge. They emphasized the need to adopt effective preventive and treatment programs targeting youth in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This symposium is part of a series of awareness-raising activities organized by the university as part of its efforts to contribute to protecting society from the dangers of drugs and promoting a culture of awareness and responsibility among its students and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
