The Department of Student Activities at Al-Karkh University of Science, in cooperation with the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics and the Women\u2019s Affairs Division, organized an awareness seminar entitled \u201cWomen\u2019s Participation in Elections is a Fundamental Right\u201d<\/em> under the slogan \u201cWomen\u2019s Participation in Elections: A Step Toward Achieving Gender Equality.\u201d<\/em> The seminar was attended by a number of staff and faculty members of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar aimed to discuss the role of women in political life, the importance of empowering them in this field, the key challenges they face, and ways to strengthen their role in decision-making and their positive impact on society. It also addressed the role of legislation and laws that enhance women\u2019s political rights and support their participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event included a lecture on women\u2019s electoral rights under the Iraqi Constitution, presentations of successful women\u2019s experiences in political participation, and a discussion of the obstacles and challenges women face in exercising this right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants to exchange views on women\u2019s participation in elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
