Al-Karkh University of Science Participates in the First Scientific Conference of the University Private Education Department
The Chancellor of Al-Karkh University of Science, Dr. Thamir A. Hassan, participated in the first scientific conference of the Department of Private University Education, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa. The conference was under the slogan:
("With science and work, our civil universities are moving towards universality").
Dr. Al-Issa said in a speech at the conference that the Ministry of Higher Education was keen to harness its potential to make the institutions of private education in the stages and high levels within the priority of quality and to take benefit from the global success and development, indicating the nature of the visions of the ministry in the context of providing quality standards for quality and academic accreditation for private university education in Iraq.
Al-Issa added that private education is responsible for preparing a generation provided with science and knowledge through its role as the true partner of government education in Iraq, pointing out the active importance represented by scientific research in universities and private colleges, especially in the fields of specialization through providing solutions and remedies for some problems facing the community system.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, commended the initiative of the universities and colleges in granting the children of martyrs, the popular mobilization forces, the children of low-income families, and the needy, and the people living in the villages and rural areas free seats in medical specialties.
The Undersecretary for Scientific Affairs and International Relations Dr. Salam Khoshnaw said that the map of civil education in Iraq has been expanded to include various scientific and humanitarian disciplines that meet the academic need, thus providing a space for engaging in the labor market and scientific competition.
The conference included discussion papers and research on the reality of the civil education and future prospects and strategy, while the Director of the Department of Private Education Ali Rzouqi gave a presentation on the work of the department of private education in the ministry and its achievements.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Minister of Higher Education honored the supervising committees and a group of university presidents and deans of the private colleges in Iraq.
