Al-Karkh University of Sciences participated in the Sixth International Scientific Conference on Creativity and Innovation.

Al-Karkh University of Sciences participated in the Sixth International Scientific Conference on Creativity and Innovation, held in Baghdad from April 16 to 17, 2025, under the theme “Creativity Builds Homelands.” The conference was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Department of Research and Development, Al-Nahrain University, and Hillah University.

Assistant Professor Dr. Laila Shuwail Hussein, Head of the Student and Teaching Activities Division at the University’s College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, participated in the conference’s Fine Arts section with a painting depicting an expressive realism of the Iraqi environment and another artwork (a wood carving). Assistant Professor Taha Talal Ali, Head of the Agricultural Division and a lecturer at the College of Energy and Environmental Sciences, also participated. He was honored with the International Creativity Shield and a certificate of appreciation within the conference’s Engineering section for publishing an article on smart irrigation, its importance, and applications. Student Zeina Abdul Amir Muhammad, from the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University’s College of Energy and Environmental Sciences, also participated in the Innovation section (a system for collecting arthropods to extract their feces and convert them into fertilizer to treat soil contaminated with heavy metals).

The conference was attended by a select group of academics and researchers from various Iraqi and Arab universities. A range of scientific research and innovations were presented in various fields, including artificial intelligence, patents, industrial models, and fine arts. Scientific and artistic exhibitions were also held, in addition to the signing of several academic books.

This conference is an important platform for enhancing scientific cooperation between academic institutions and the private sector, providing investment opportunities for innovation and scientific research, contributing to the development of Iraqi cities and achieving sustainable development.
