
Al-Karkh University of Sciences Participates in the Study of the Wooden Badge (Jungle Medal) for Scouts in Maysan Governorate
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Yasser Al-Aboudi, and His Excellency the Minister of Education, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Karkh University of Sciences, Professor Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, the University’s Student Activities Department participated in the study of the Wooden Badge (Jungle Medal), which was held at the Al-Amara Permanent Scout Camp in Maysan Governorate from April 11 to 15, 2025.
The study aims to qualify and develop the skills of leaders working in scouting activities from the General Directorates of Education in all governorates, along with representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This study aims to instill educational values and enhance the spirit of leadership and responsibility among the young generation.
For his part, the Director of the Student Activities Department at Al-Karkh University of Science, M.M. Alaa Khalaf Abdul Zahra, explained that the event was held under the slogan: “Today’s Leaders… Authentic Values… Promising Future.” He emphasized that the participation reflects the university’s interest in developing students’ capabilities and supporting cadres working in the scouting field.
This participation comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Education/Iraqi Boy Scouts Association and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority/Student Activities Department to enhance the role of universities in supporting educational and scouting activities.
