Al-Kharkh University of Sciences holds the first scientific festival for renewable energies and sustainable development 2024
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Kharkh University of Sciences, Dr. Luay Kazim Abboud, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, under the slogan “Towards Clean Renewable Energy – Renewable Energy and its Effective Role in Sustainable Development”, Al-Kharkh University of Sciences holds the first scientific festival for renewable energies and sustainable development for the year 2024, with the participation of the Center for Environmental, Water and Renewable Energy Research and the Center for Space Research and Technology affiliated with the Scientific Research Authority and in the presence of a number of university members, faculty members and students.
The festival aims to highlight the importance of renewable energies such as solar, wind and bioenergy, and their major role in achieving sustainable development goals at the local and international levels.
The festival also seeks to enhance scientific awareness among students and researchers about sustainable solutions to address environmental challenges, and to stimulate research and innovation in this vital field.
The festival included a group of lectures and presentations in which researchers from the Scientific Research Authority and university and scientific institutions participated. The festival also included scientific discussions aimed at developing new solutions that support the use of renewable energy in various sectors.
On the sidelines of the festival, the university hosted a bazaar of handicrafts, accessories, perfumes, paintings and various books with cultural and scientific titles that won the admiration of the attendees.
Al-Kharkh University of Science considers this festival an important step towards enhancing academic and research cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, and encouraging young people to engage in research and development fields that contribute to preserving the environment and achieving sustainable development.
