The College of Science Holds its First Annual Symposium on Medical Physics
The Department of Medical Physics in the College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science organized its annual symposium for the first scientific specialty of medical physics, in the presence of the Chancellor of the university Dr. Thamir A. Hassan, the Vice-Chancellors of the University for scientific and administrative affairs and the deans.
The symposium had the theme "Medical Technological Development and a Means to Better Health," and it included several topics, such as radiation physics and its uses in the therapeutic fields, the use of laser and sensors in medical applications, nanoscale materials and their applications in medical physics.
The symposium aims to identify the latest developments in modern technology used in the medical field, and to find a means of communication between researchers specialized in the education sector and the medical sector to keep pace with the development of the health sector through the introduction of the use of modern technology in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
The Chancellor of the University said that the development and support of the health and medical sector as a basic priority is an important step towards the progress in the progress. He stressed that the main objective of this symposium is to introduce modern techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors and diseases in local hospitals.
