Al-Karkh University of Sciences Participates in the Central Graduation Ceremony for Iraqi University Students – Under the Slogan “From the Rain of Karbala Sprouts Generosity”
Al-Karkh University of Sciences participated in the central graduation ceremony for Iraqi university students, held by the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine for the fifth batch (Ala Huda Al-Qamar). The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abbas Hassan, and the participation of five thousand students representing 64 public and private universities from across Iraq.
During the ceremony, a parade of Al-Karkh University of Science students was held, with the participation of several university professors. The students’ procession began from the courtyard of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), passing through the area between the two holy shrines, arriving at the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), where the students took the graduation oath and pledge of loyalty to the homeland, in addition to performing the blessed pilgrimage.
The ceremony included a magnificent artistic painting created by the students, depicting the icon of Iraq and the safety valve, His Eminence Sayyid Ali al-Sistani. Speeches were also delivered by the Legal Custodian of the Holy Abbasid Shrine, His Eminence Sayyid Ahmed al-Safi al-Najafi, and a representative of Iraqi universities. The ceremony also featured theatrical performances, poetry, and chants dedicated to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). The ceremony also honored some families of martyrs and people of determination, as well as the presidents of the universities participating in the ceremony.
This gracious ceremony is one of the events organized by the Holy Abbasid Shrine on a regular basis each year. It includes a variety of activities aimed at motivating and supporting students morally, providing all the necessary resources to ensure the success of this ceremony, and crowning their educational journey with an effectiveness befitting their level and academic standing, enabling them to achieve their goals in practical and real life.
Through this event, the Holy Abbasid Shrine seeks to consolidate the identity of university students and embody the values of knowledge and scholars, in the presence of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
