Al-Karkh University of Science discussed ways to strengthen prospects for joint cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Forces Authority, during a meeting between the University President, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, and an official delegation representing the General Directorate of Relations and Social Services at the Authority.

The meeting, attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ihab Naji Abbas, addressed mechanisms for joint work and activating institutional partnership between the two sides in a manner that serves the scientific and social mission.

The discussions focused primarily on examining the possibility of utilizing and making use of a number of important sites affiliated with the Authority, specifically “Bayt Al-Jamal” (The House of Beauty), located in the historic Al-Qishla building, and the “Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Complex” in Al-Adhamiya, as well as discussing the steps required to prepare these sites in accordance with the University’s academic vision.

During the meeting, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad affirmed Al-Karkh University of Science’s commitment to maintaining openness and cooperation with state institutions, noting that investing in these landmarks would contribute to providing an ideal environment for hosting scientific and cultural events and activities, while enhancing the University’s role in engaging with the cultural and historical heritage of Baghdad.

For its part, the delegation of the General Directorate of Relations and Social Services expressed its great welcome to cooperation with a distinguished academic institution such as Al-Karkh University of Science, affirming the Authority’s readiness to provide the possible facilities and move forward with developing joint understandings to ensure the utilization of these sites in a manner that serves the public interest and supports the education and cultural sectors in Iraq.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, presented the Al-Karkh University of Science Shield to the visiting delegation as an expression of appreciation and honor for the visit and as an affirmation of strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
